It depends more on the quality of the pracititoner then which tradition they are from (as long as they trained in some type of quality tradition). Some are really good and some are not that good. I would take anything he says with a grain of salt or better yet just avoid his stuff all together (you can safely assume anyone who claims a online weekend course makes you a shaman is a total fraud). Sadly, because he claims his teachings are Q'ero, his ideas are quickly replacing actual Q'ero traditions because of all the tourism issues, so his material is very damaging to the actual traditions he claims to teach. His books and classes are mostly 'core shamanism' (which is created by westerners and is mostly the opposite of actual shamanism) and then he mixes in random new age versions of eastern religious ideas and some random Peruvian words to make it sound exotic. He doesnt teach shamanism or anything similar to shamanism - he mostly teaches typical western new age practices.

I once saw a woman named Wendy on Russell Brand's show, she was absolutely fascinating, she was from the UK, but grew up among tribal peoples. Has anyone ever taken these medicines & can tell me anything at all about them? Or refer me to a place where people can speak about such things if it isn't allowed here?Īnd any knowledge of any North American tribes who allow outsiders to even bear witness to a ceremony would be much appreciated, especially the Hopi. I have the deepest respect for the plant medicines & am a little apprehensive about taking them, which I know I need to get over. I have strange enough experiences as is, & I'm very sensitive to all chemicals/medications, most either do nothing or I have a negative reaction to them, but I do want to commune with the plants & HEAL. And Alberto's, the Four Winds in the Peruvian Mountains, which sounded more like a sightseeing trip, although I know Machu Pichu, etc are very sacred, so taking nothing away from that.Īlso, I have never partaken of any type of plant medicine. I've found retreats in the Peruvian Amazon, in Mexico & the Andes run by Shipibo Shaman's. I'm willing to go anywhere in the world, & am totally committed. I am a Seer, psychic medium among other things, if that might help me find a teacher/Master. I've had a rough last 12 yrs resulting in illness, to put it mildly. I'm interested in being healed & taught the methods of healing. Does anyone have experience with Shamanic retreats, or a place to be taught the Shamanic Ways? I've heard of Alberto Villoldo & am currently reading one of his books.
